Conservation Team Member

Fixed Term Full Time - 1 year contract

Band 3 - $57,551 - $61,425 (+ 9.5% super & RDO)

Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Conservation Team Member to join our Conservation and Environment Team.

Our municipality is a key destination for international migratory wading birds with Ramsar listed wetlands within our borders. We have highly valued grasslands, woodlands, salt marsh and mangrove communities, the diversity of habitats will be a key driver in this role. This exciting position will involve restoration and maintenace of remnant and restored landscapes.

The applicant must have a Trade Certificate in Natural Resource Management, or conservation, and or relevant on the job experience in conservation practices. The Conservation Team Members key responsibilities include weed control, revegetation and general maintenance works as required. 

Applicants will be able to identify priority weeds, utilise best practice in weed management and abilities in recognising Occupational Health and Safety issues, particularly when working in the field.  

Applicants to have the ability to work on weekends as required and have a Victorian Drivers licence.
