Hobsons Bay City Council is located in Melbourne’s south-western suburbs and covers an area of 65 square kilometres. With an operating expenditure budget of $120m and capital expenditure budget over $34M, it supports a population of 95,000 residents.

 

Council is committed to achieving an exceptional customer experience and to being a council of excellence that delivers outcomes through innovation.  This new role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for bringing together and leading existing and new teams in the diverse portfolios of Customer Focus, Corporate Planning and Performance and Continuous Improvement. 

 

This exciting role has responsibility for shaping and leading the development and implementation of Council-wide customer focus and innovative solutions while collaborating with senior stakeholders to deliver best-value outcomes. Drawing on your demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams, you will develop frameworks and solutions that enable Council work areas to achieve a positive customer experience and embed a culture of continuous improvement in all of their planning and service delivery.

 

As a natural communicator you will form strong relationships with all stakeholders including the CEO, the executive management team, Councillors and community.  Within your team you will nurture and develop staff for superior performance, fostering innovation, accountability and teamwork.  Exceptional strategic thinking, change management and influencing skills are a must for this position.

 

A salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate commensurate with skills and experience.
