Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking to appoint School Crossing Supervisor Relievers.


The successful applicants will be appointed as relief School Crossing Supervisors and will be initially offered relieving work. When crossings become available for an on-going appointment, the Relief School Crossing Supervisor will be offered the opportunity to fill the existing role.


School crossings are supervised each morning and afternoon for periods of up to 1 hour, typically between 8am to 9am and between 3pm to 4pm. 


Previous experience is not essential as successful applicants will receive on-the-job training. Applicants must be able to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to supervise a crossing in a way that meets the needs of both motorists and pedestrians using the crossings. The successful applicant will be able to function effectively while working alone.  It is desirable that applicants are available Monday to Friday during school terms.


Successful applicants will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check and be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and physical assessment.
